3. Humor and fun works, but keep it real
People on Social Media love a good laugh, but they also like good authentic stories (in the studio, interviews, you doing something outgoing, etc). Try and post things that you and your fans/followers love and keeps them busy. For example recently the superbowl, upcoming Elections in the USA, upcoming European Championship of football, Miami Winter Music Conference or EDC Las Vegas. Keep an eye on the major events and news topics in the world and try and give it a personal twist.
“Give your own personal (funny) twist to huge events and news that is a hot topic RIGHT NOW”
Another thing that really works is: in the studio, backstage videos, festival videos or pictures, how did you make that track, remake of a hit record, a remix. When you finished a live mix try and tell the story behind your tracklisting. When you finished a new remix or track: try and tell people how did you make it. People and fans love that on Social Media and they hear the track again!
Keep your posts real, raw and to yourself. If you post something really professional (photoshoot, press release, etc.) less people on Social Media will engage. It’s the same with commercials: when you see it you don’t care about it. Keep it genuine and real.
