About Lord Of The Sound
What was your first EDM track you have heard which made you fall in love with this genre?
We had been listening to EDM for a while and first started producing music when we were 15. I (Oliver Opoku) really fell in love with the genre when I first heard Calvin Harris – Bounce ft. Kellis. For Michael Jalink it was Afrojack’s – Rock the House.
How did you came up with your DJ name?
We came up with the name when we were in the studio once and were thinking of how important it was for us to have our own “sound”. We kept saying “the sound” and from that we derived that we wanted to be the Lords of the Sound. We first started with FL studio but quickly transitioned to Logic Pro 9, which is now Logic Pro X.
What are your favorite plugins for synths, mastering and effects?
We would have to say that the “ES2” and “EXS24 Sampler” are the favorites for us when it comes to synths. We use the Space Designer a lot for our reverb effects and the “Multicompressor” when mastering.
If you could do a collaboration with any artist out there, what would be your top 3 (and why)?
Martin Garrix, Hardwell and Oliver Heldens would be our top 3 dream collaborations. Martin Garrix because he inspires us, being even younger than we are as dedicated as us. Hardwell because we admire his self-confidence and Oliver Heldens because we feel he brings a very original sound to the genre.
If you could travel the world as a DJ what would be the three items you will always bring with you in your bag?
When traveling we always make sure to take headphones, a laptop, and we have a midi-keyboard with us at all times
2016 just started, what can we expect in the upcoming year from you?
In 2016 we plan on releasing several original tracks,. along with videos. Our goal is to start performing at festivals this summer.
