Despite deadmau5’s own opinion of his sixth studio album, W:/2016ALBUM/ has debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart. The 12-track LP featuring the single “Snowcone” arrived on December 2, 2016 via his own label imprint mau5trap, marking deadmau5’s first independently released studio album.
It is not, however, his first studio album to debut at the top of the Billboard chart. W:/2016ALBUM/ makes deadmau5’s sixth consecutive top-three debuts on the Billboard chart.
This news was nearly overshadowed by a fresh video released today of deadmau5’s revamped iconic cube stage, which he’ll be taking on his upcoming “Lots of Shows in a Row Tour.” Soundtracked by his Grabbitz collab “Let Go,” the video boasts six minutes of behind-the-scenes exclusive design, build and performance footage.
The video is the second product of a new relationship with YouTube that was premiered with the “live from rehearsals” live stream broadcast.
deadmau5 will kick off his tour on March 29, 2017, the first of four nights at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York, NY. The “Lots of Shows in a Row Tour” supporting the new album will close on May 5, 2017 at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago, IL.
