Tiesto took his rightful place on Ultra Music Festival Miami’s Main Stage last weekend, and it unsurprisingly brought about a unveiling of fresh tracks and talent. And true to his nurturing nature in the industry having been around for 20 or so years, he brought out a number of guests including DallasK, Delaney Jane, Vassy and The Chainsmokers which put the crowd into a frenzy.
However, it was his bringing out of Mike Williams that caught many people attention from the stellar set. While his name has been floating around the scene for a little while now, his rise and production’s are nevertheless impressive. At only 19, Williams is already attracting some big names, and making significant waves. Sourcing from the infallible Holland, his remix of “I Really Like You” amassed over 3 millions plays on SoundCloud alone. And having received support from the likes of Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Oliver Heldens and Hardwell, it came as np surprise to many his first official record “Sweet and Sour” was signed by Tiesto’s Musical Freedom.
Unveiling their yet-to-be-titled collaboration, Tiesto went on a 34 track rampage during his mix. Featuring well known tracks alongside Heldens and Martin Garrix, he also slipped in a HI-LO “ID” and his remixes of “All Of Me” and Alex Walkers “Faded” in the first 25 minutes. The set also teased his upcoming collaboration with Ummet Ozcan as well as a couple of completely new tracks yet to receive an artists name. Blended with the like of KSHMR, Vicetone, Quintino, VINAI, Tritonal, Blasterjaxx among many others, Tiesto status as EDM’s esteemed figure head was upheld once again. Providing a variety of talent, popularity, new music and experience, it will feel undoubtedly strange the day we don’t see his presence at the world’s leading festivals.
