It’s been 15 years since the much-loved Techno Viking meme was created.
Director Matthias Fritsch originally filmed the clip at Berlin’s Fuckparade back in 2000 and has completed his crowdfunded campaign to create a documentary about how the techno viking came to be.
First seen in the year 2000 as a viral clip called ‘Kneecam No. 1,’ Techno Viking helped Fritsch become a millionaire from advertisements on the viral video alone. Years later, the Techno Viking himself filed a lawsuit against Fritsche and won.
