To highlight this wonderful artist we also took the time to visit DJ Synchro in his studio for a small interview. But first, don’t forget to download George Benson – Gimme The Night (DJ Synchro Bootleg)!!!
My genre is -and always will be- house and mainly vocal and melodic house -and dance music. I remember a lot of tracks. Like ‘Pancake – Don’t Turn Your Back’ or tracks from the likes Olav Basoski, Robin S and so forth. There isn’t one particular track which made me fall in love with the genre but merely the genre itself.
When did you first started with producing music?
Well, my first official release was in 2007, but I was busy figuring out production techniques and hard -and software a couple of years before that.
How did you came up with your DJ name?
Well, DJ’ing has a lot to do with synchronicity. So that actually made me come up with my DJ name. But I’m currently also producing tracks under another name, which is Robert Newcourt.
Which DAW do you use and why?
I currently use Steinberg Cubase Pro 8.5. Cubase can do a lot of things that other DAW’s can’t. It’s very stable and I like the way the UI is set up and the workflow possibilities it offers. Also the integration of hardware is sublime. Not to mention the sound quality and the quality of the built-in VST’s and VSTi’s.
What are your favorite plugins for synths, mastering and effects?
For synths that would be for example the NI Massive, Ample Sound Bass guitar Plug-Ins, KORG M1 and Toontrack EZKeys
For mastering I use the Fabfilter plugins a lot, like the Pro-C and the Pro-L
For FX I tend to use different stuff but mostly the ‘Valhalla VintageVerb’, the built in plugins in Cubase and the Waves H-Delay.
If you could do a collaboration with any artist out there, what would be your top 3 (and why)?
Well, that’s a difficult question… But, probably Lucas and Steve because I love their sound. DJ Roog because he stays true to the House sound and last but not least one of my favorite producers of this moment; Joe Stone. I absolutely love his productions.
Coffee, water or beer, depending on the day and time ?
If you could travel the world as a DJ what would be the three items you will always bring with you in your bag?
Headphones, earplugs and my phone. Can’t go anywhere without my phone 😛
2016 just started, what can we expect in the upcoming year from you?
For 2016 I’m having huge plans, so at least a lot of productions. I’ve got lots of projects that needs to be finished, so keep an eye on my website ?.
