Someone’s studio has just got a whole lot better.

The EMI TG12345 MK IV recording console used at Abbey Road Studios from 1971 to 1983 has been sold at auction for $1,807,500, auctioneer Bonhams has announced.

A beast of a setup with 40 channels, it was used by The Beatles members Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr, The Cure, Kate Bush and Pink Floyd, famously for the latter’s ‘Dark Side of the Moon’ album.

Producer Mike Hedges sold it having originally bought it when the studio equipment at Abbey Road was upgraded in ’83.
